Cutout Toolpath
The cutout toolpath is used to cut the part out of the material. This is done to separate the part from the rest of the material. This is an optional part of the process as depending on your project you may not need to cut the part out of the material.
The cutout toolpath has three main parameters that you need to set:
- Tool - The tool that you will use to cut the material
- Final Pass Height - The height that the tool will cut to on the final pass. This is the height that the tool will cut to when it is cutting the final pass around the part. If you wish to cut the part out completely that you should set this to
0
if you wish to leave a small amount of material then you should set this to a small positive value. - Cut Direction - The direction that the tool will move when cutting the part out. This can be either
Conventional
orClimb
.
Climb or Convention
The cut direction is the direction that the tool will move when cutting the part out. If in doubt then you should ideally consult the documentation for your machine or tooling to see which is the best option.
More Settings
By default, the toolpath will be created using the settings from the tool database. You can override these settings by using the 'More Settings' button.
